Scott McConnell speaks his piece
I may not entirely agree with Mr. McConnell's assessment of WWII, but I was still happy to see him set the record straight on the latest paleo rift. Good for you Scott. Long live TAC!
I came across this blog by accident. I agree that WWII has been overdone as the "Good War." Allied crimes such as Stalin's deportation of the Volga Germans and the Czech expulsion of the Sudeten Germans have almost no presence in American popular memory. This has real consequences for human rights today. Instead of judging acts we as a society instead judge victims and perpetrators depending on whether they are "politically correct." This is quite evident in the mainstream narrative of Palestine. Here the Israelis are always the good guys and the Arabs always the bad guys regardless of actions.
Ha. So McConnell is basically saying, "Look, I don't necessarily think Pat is right on WWII and a lot of the staff feel that way. So we published this review."
What a perfectly reasonable defense. But I guess he'll still be decried as a liberal appeaser by some.

I forget if I've posted it here before, but I defend Charles Lindbergh on WW2 here.
